According to numerous case studies, the majority of dogs get infected by various parasites at least once in their lifetime. These parasites may come in various species and forms, but they all have one thing in common – they will always have a long-term impact on your dog’s health. That is why there always remains a sense of urgency to treat dogs with proper medication whenever they get infected with parasites.
Types of dog parasites

Now, two types of parasites are seen in dogs, i.e., Internal and External.
Some parasites like worms (Hookworms, Ringworms, Roundworms, Tapeworms, Whipworms) and some other kinds of parasites like Coccidia, Giardia, Spirochetes etc. enter a dog’s bloodstream and stay there for a long time while they mature in the dog’s heart.
These are called Internal parasites. After fully maturing they release toxins which then start to disrupt the blood flow and most of the times dogs get their arterial wall ruptured and progressively, and inflammation is caused.
Fleas and ticks mostly constitute the second variety of parasites, which is named External Parasites. Scabies, Demodex, lice etc. are also considered to be external parasites for dogs. Depending on the weather and climate external parasites thrive and spread infections. These parasites often find their hosts when dogs go out exploring bushes or prairies or some sort of wooded areas. The worrisome fact is that you may not know, about your dog having fleas, ticks or mites until it becomes mature.
Needless to say, parasite treatment with proper medication is very significant when it comes to your dog’s health. Otherwise, it could be concerning and even fatal in some cases.
In this article, we are briefly going to talk about external parasite infection and its treatment with ZoGuard Plus for dogs as it is relatively more common than internal ones and it aggravates the worry of many dog owners because curing external parasites is more difficult than it seems most often.
